Ryan Drolet's Bio:
I started
playing guitar at the age of twelve. My early influences were bands like Kiss,
Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper. One day as a teenager I came across a Joe Pass
recording and it was unlike anything I had heard before. At that moment I knew
I had to learn how to make that type of sound. I've never played the same
since.
After deciding I had to learn how to play jazz music, I went to school. I studied jazz guitar performance and composition at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton Alberta.
Since college, I've gone on to perform with many bands. Some of the highlights include touring Europe with EMI recording artist Tariq, releasing a CD and video with Kissing Ophelia and having a composition played at a Vancouver Canucks game during half time.
Currently I'm performing in and around Vancouver with The Workshop, Melic Thrum and doing my own gigs, playing tunes off of the Trippin' Wet recording.
